Robert Bellavance describes his art, “The imagery in my art is narrative in scope, using familiar objects and forms, along with symbols and symbolism, both primitive and modern to tell a story that unfolds within a stage of open landscapes or twisted, silent street scenes. The inspiration is drawn both locally and from my extensive travels and personal relationship with Mexico.
The exact meaning of the work is difficult to document, due to the subconscious nature of the subject matter. However, I believe the symbolism is universal in nature and the viewer should feel free to draw their own meaning or conclusions from the work.”
