November 9th Painting Exhibition |

You are cordially invited to attend Lojart Gallery’s art reception, celebrating the works of local painter Sheri Chakamian . Join us as we explore her exceptional works, converse with the artist and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres. The reception will take place on Friday, November 9th, 6 to 9 PM, at Lojart Gallery, 35 East First Street, Downtown Morgan Hill.
 Chakamian received her BFA with an emphasis in printmaking. She continued to paint on the side and participate in several shows while earning her MBA and raising a family. Chakamian currently teaches drawing and painting classes at her studio in Morgan Hill.
Sheri is drawn to the beauty of her dancers that reflects from within and not their facial expressions. She describes her work:
“To me love is an aesthetic act as it was to her. I am interested in that connection in its physicality. Something happens, a perplexing attraction is felt in a split second by a man and woman, and then, passion and movement follow. I find dance and dancing proper texture and context to show this. Emotions entangled in intimate movements of bodies.
Soul thrusting forth from every joint of a body at once in control and subject to it, while transforming both the body and itself in the short silence between the notes. Looks and facial expressions are secondary to me. I take and collect pictures of dancers and people all the time. I paint the ones that capture the emotion, the exuberance, the beauty and sensual presence of that connection. ”

Lojart Gallery features new artists every second Friday of the month. Receptions take place from 6 to 9 PM unless otherwise announced. Lojart Gallery is located at 35 East First Street, Suite B & C near Monterey Road in Morgan Hill.
