Dean J. Birinyi is an architectural photographer with fifteen years experience and has an extensive client list of leaders in the fields of architecture and interior design that includes KMD Architects, Chong Partners Architecture, Polytech Associates, BCA Architects, Simpson Design Group, Beaman Construction, DaLusso Design, UC Davis Health Systems and CNN. In addition to working with professionals in the residential, commercial and institutional design fields to create architectural photography seen internationally, he produces beautiful and evocative artistic and scenic imagery.
I worked in photo labs for five years to learn the technical aspects of photography. Custom printing was my favorite duty because I got to take the raw images and make the final finishing touches that make the difference between a good shot and a fantastic photograph. In 1992 I went into business full-time as an architectural photographer in Denver, Colorado. Over the past fifteen years I have been fortunate enough to work with many very skilled and talented people in the architectural and interior design fields. I always enjoy working with other creative professionals because we get to share our talents and build on each other’s ideas to create some wonderful images. It is rare that I would not learn something new from my clients or could not share some arcane piece of knowledge that would give them a creative push to fuel their next idea. Throughout the past twenty years I have pursued a course of self-guided study of the visual arts and am now ready to show my works to the world. Some people have said that I should not have waited so long because my images are as spectacular, beautiful and compelling as any they have ever seen. I am comfortable knowing that I have made good use of this time perfecting my ability to share my perception of the reality in which we exist. I hope you enjoy the show and that you will find that my efforts to communicate these often obscure ideas, feelings and concepts to be of worth. So, please spend some time outside the world you know and explore my perceptions of our existence. |
